Fox Creek Veterinary Hospital is proud to offer a Class IV Therapy Laser for both equine and small animal patients. Therapeutic laser technology has been shown to reduce inflammation, decrease pain, promote blood flow, and encourage healing. Laser is ideal for management of both fresh and chronic wounds, but can also be used as an adjunct modality in the treatment of osteoarthritis and soft tissue injury. Laser therapy is usually prescribed as a package of several treatments; the doctor or a trained technician will treat your horse for several minutes in a targeted area each time during the course of the regimen. Immediate effects include a reduction of swelling and pain, and over time, the penetrating laser can help to stimulate growth of nerves, vessels, and healthy tissue. Laser treatments are safe, non-invasive, cost-effective, and well-tolerated by the patient. Please view the manufacturer’s website for more information or contact us at 636-458-6569 if you have any questions about this therapeutic modality.
