DR. MELISSA LORD

Dr. Melissa Lord is originally from Omaha, Nebraska and still proudly considers herself a Cornhusker! After graduating high school, Dr. Lord attended the University of Findlay for her undergraduate degree and obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Iowa State University in 2013. Having moved to Missouri after graduation and to St. Louis in 2014, Dr. Lord believes the city has been a great fit for her, and it feels like home now.

Dr. Lord practiced emergency medicine for over seven years, and for the past year has been working with in-home end-of-life care. She loves internal medicine and wound management and has a growing interest in poultry medicine. One of Dr. Lord’s favorite aspects of veterinary medicine is how varied the caseload can be on a day-to-day basis, and how both animals and people benefit from this profession.

Dr. Lord shares her home with four wonderful cats; Sam, Izzy, Spock, and Nandor the Relentless. Outside of work, Dr. Lord loves traveling and horseback riding and strives to do both as often as possible. She is also often found in her backyard tending to her small flock of chickens.
